My sewing machine has been in overdrive the last week! I have a been sewing and crafting like crazy!! I love to create and I am always so excited to see the finished product. I made Kate and Graham personalized trick or treat bags this year. I really wanted some from Pottery Barn Kids but I waited to long and they were sold out! But I am actually glad because I think the ones I made are so much cuter and they will go with any costume which will definitely save me money in the long run!! I have never made a bag before but I thought I would wing it. I ended up making 2 for Kate because the first one, I sewed it in the wrong order.... whoops! Here's what I came up with -
Up next taggie blankets... I love to make those!!!

Couponing 101
At our last MOPS meeting, we learned all about couponing and saving money! It has been SO cool to see how much (or how little) I can get our groceries for! So far my best deal was probably $20 worth of groceries and toiletries at CVS for $2! I LOVE getting a good deal! And it saves our family a ton of money! If you are interested check out this blog The Frugal Life. Tons of great info and it helped me get into the swing of things and really understanding how to save so much money! Since I started clipping coupons, they have taken over my kitchen! I didn't have anything to organize them in, and was just using an envelope for each store we were shopping at. Well even while saving money, I insist on being fashionable! : ) So I decided to make a coupon organizer! I picked out some super cute fabric and I must say, I love the way it came out!
Its small enough to stick in my purse but long enough to hold those long internet printable coupons! If you are interested in a coupon organizer, let me know!
Until next time-

Cake balls anyone?
So if you haven't had a cake ball just think cake, icing, and chocolate.... how could that possibly taste bad? Well they are delicious!!! Mike had been out of town all week and I wanted to make him something special so I thought I would give these a whirl! I found a recipes on All Recipes that a zillion reviews of which most said these were super easy!
Ok so you start with baking a cake. Well I have a problem even with baking a cake as my oven cooks super hot so I have to cook everything at a lower temp so I never know how long it will take! So I tend to over bake everything! Luckily you crumble up the cake so it doesn't have to be pretty! Then you put a WHOLE tub of icing with the cake crumbs... ummm I would like to just eat that with a spoon!!! Then roll the mixture into little balls - think meatballs- and stick them in the fridge for awhile. Now comes the hard part - melt some chocolate coating a roll the balls in the mix. Well mine kept falling off the toothpicks and they were NOT pretty. So all you experienced bakers out there have any tips on the chocolate coating part? But pretty or not they were super duper tasty and I really enjoyed making them!! But I must warn you before you try this out... the recipe makes a ton and they are super addictive!!! Enjoy!

Fall fun!
I love Fall! I love the weather, love all the colors and the smells! But I must say I hate the allergies! UGH! I have always wanted to decorate for fall but never seem to get around to it before its time to put up my Christmas tree! (Which I usually do before thanksgiving!) So this year I decided to make a transitional Fall wreath that I can easily change into a Christmas wreath. I learned this technique a few years ago from the ladies at Miss Cayce's! I must say I am pretty happy with the way it turned out!
Also for those wanting a size reference to my ribbon flowers here is my beautiful model - Kate!
Of course I can always make them bigger or smaller as well!
Until next time -

Canton!
I got to go to Canton this past weekend and WOW I love that place!!! I love to see all the one of a kind items! It also gives me lots of ideas of things I can make! I loved these ribbon flowers especially but didn't want to pay $10 for them!!!!! So I figured I would give them a shot and I think they came out pretty cute!
I am charging $4 for these and can make them in any color you would like!! I also decided to make a fall wreath for my door. I had a blast shopping for all my goodies and spent the day putting it together! I didnt get it quite finished but once I do I will post a picture of it! It is going to be a "transitional" wreath that I can make a few easy changes and it will also be my Christmas wreath! I must say I pretty excited about it!
Until then -
Kelly
